Univeristy Students participate in English Immersion

Most college students, after taking their last final exam of winter quarter, can’t wait for their spring vacations.  Some may have plans to go on vacation, a trip to the beach or camping.  But how many have plans to devote their entire break making a difference in people’s lives and serving at a non-profit organization?  This has been a tradition here at La Casa Hogar for eleven years. Each year there are new faces but the same warm spirit.  For one week the Newman students teach our students the “American Culture” exploring different activities and food.  All our students were encouraged to speak English and eat American food.  It was a great learning experience for everyone.

2009 Spring Quarter Begins

85 women registered for classes

and 45 children participating in the

early learning center

Every quarter there is always new women with different stories to tell about their journey and how they found La Casa Hogar. Registration is on a first come first serve basis so some maybe on the waiting list. Women wait patiently because they want to reach their goals.  We are truly blessed by those who share our community here at La Casa Hogar.
